Why pay for a sub-par sandwich at a fast food chain when you can make a better version at home? Grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, and juicy tomatoes make a delectable wrap. Try homemade tortillas instead of pita bread for a change of pace.

  • 3 strips chicken breast(s), grilled
  • 1/2 whole wheat pita
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) light mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) low-fat salad dressing
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) simulated bacon bits
  • 2 leaves Romaine lettuce
  • 3 slices tomato(es)
  • Instructions

    1. 1 Spread inside of half a whole-wheat pita with mayonnaise or salad dressing and barbecue sauce and sprinkle with the simulated bacon bits.
    2. 2 Layer in the grilled chicken breast strips, sliced tomatoes and lettuce leaves that have been washed.
